Practical health measures - hand hygiene
Hand hygiene plays a critical part in fighting and mitigating Covid-19. It is one of the most effective actions you can take to reduce the spread of pathogens and prevent infections including Covid-19 virus.
The practical health measure is to wash your hands with soap properly for 40 – 60 seconds and to sanitize them in a timely manner for 20 – 30 seconds with an alcohol-based hand rub.
Wash or disinfect your hands:

After coughing

After toilet use

After sneezing

When your hands
are visibly dirty

When caring
for a sick friend

After touching
exposed surfaces

Before, during and
after having food

All information implemented and displayed are based on the current sanitary situation in Mauritius.
